The Koss TBSE1 is a smooth and enjoyable sounding headphone suitable for a wide range of music. Bass response is solid, but not overly prominent, mids are smooth and treble is detailed but not harsh. Individual instrument separation and soundstage are excellent for a closed model.
The stereo/mono switch can help with monitoring situations.
Build quality is solid, isolation levels are good and comfort is excellent.

An excellent allround closed headphone for the price!

A short review from Head Fi Forum  -

-Soundstage is massive, bigger than the Mx980 in terms of tallness but about the same as the mx880 in width, it is very forward and much more enjoyable, and VERY NATURAL sounding that is both very tall and very wide,

-Depth in stage is unlike any earbuds Ive ever heard of this style, its sublime.  Separation is amazing.

-Vocals are ASTOUNDING and bar none the best ive EVER heard in any style earbud.

-Presentation is dry, its very airy sounding with loads of space between everything.  It is not as colored as the PK1, but its also nowhere near as neutral as the MX980

-Comfort is pretty good and if you can snip a tiny hole on a set of unused pads, do it.  It helps a little.  They stood in place all day.  I worked out with them, hitting a punching bag with kicks and punches and it didn’t budge in the slightest.

-It is bass light, sorry fellas it doesnt have anywhere near the level of bass the mx880 or 980 have.  Its very airy and thin.

-Highs and mids are clear and natural sounding and unlike any bud of this style I’ve ever tried.

-They are easily driven by a clip or fuze, no amp needed but im sure it would improve even more with one

-Not as punchy or sparkled as the pk1, but not at all lacking.

Koss_New_Models

Yes, Koss 2010 models are being relased as we speak, 3 new models, Koss KEB40, UR55, PRODJ100 are on their way to Vietnam as we speak… more updates to follow once the products arrive do stay in tune~

Fake #. 1:
1 – The Headphone picture on the metalcal does not match ours. Top of headband is all one line on fake one.
2 – Mic screw is a little different on front & back.
3 – Plastic piece that holds the comfortZone label is different. No texture on outside rim. Does not have a ledge under the blue slider.
4 – Plastic piece (earcup w/metalcal ring is different). On inside we have 3 gate circles. Large, med, small. The fake has 3 all the same size. Our 2 top circles are smaller than the fake one.
5 – Metalcal ring is rough looking. Where the ring sits does not have the slope.
6 – The right cup on the fake has a cavity no. but it is no. 4 dull. The Koss phone has a no. 1 but shiny where the no. is.
7 – The “KOSS” embossed on the plug is not very deep as on ours. Also does not have a trash can label on cord.
8 – The impedance reads 30 to 33.7 ohms as where Koss reads between 60 to 63.4 ohms.
9 – Element cups, terminal board covers & grille plates are different.
10 – Cushions are a little larger & a slight difference in color. Do not have the crease on top like ours.

Packaging:
1 – Different backcards.
2 – Inner tray does not have the indents where the headband lays.
3 – Green color is not the same on top insert.
4 – Carrying pouch is different than Koss. Lines are in where “KOSS” is embossed.
5 – Headphone is loaded backwards in tray.
